About Burgos and Sosa
Hans Burgos received his law degree in 1987 from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico. In 1988 he became a Federal Prosecutor after joining the U.S. Department of Justice under the Attorney General’s National Honor Program. As a trial attorney for eleven years, Mr. Burgos represented the United States in deportation proceedings conducted before immigration courts in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, New York and Washington, DC. In 1999 he went into private practice and established the law firm of Burgos & Sosa specializing in immigration law. Mr. Burgos is a top (AV) rated attorney and admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, in Florida and in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He is a member of the International Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Languages: English and Spanish.
Magali Sosa received her law degree in 1990 from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. In 1991 she worked for the law firm of Podhurst Orseck. Ms. Sosa then opened her own private solo practice in 1995 specializing in immigration law. For the past 15 years she has represented foreign nationals in deportation proceedings before immigration courts in Florida; multinational corporations and individuals in visa petition proceedings (including the processing of labor certifications); and families seeking lawful permanent residence in this country. In 1999, Ms. Sosa merged her practice with the law firm of Burgos & Sosa continuing her specialization in immigration law. She is a top rated attorney admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court of Puerto Rico. Ms. Sosa is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
